Your alternative pathway to a career in acting

Designed for aspiring actors aged 18+, this part-time programme will help you to master the core acting skills for screen and provide you with industry knowledge, essential for a career in acting.

 

The Actor Rebellion has been providing actor training since 2010 and has built a reputation as a centre of excellence in the South of England.

What can I expect?

In the first term, you'll immerse yourself in the art of acting, embracing a dynamic, collaborative environment designed to sharpen your instincts. Through intensive training, you'll master the organic approach to bring characters to life, honing your craft with passion and precision. 

 

As you progress into the second term, your focus will shift to perfecting your on-screen presence. You'll learn to seamlessly adapt your techniques for the unique demands of TV and film. Through engaging scene work, you'll discover the nuances of camera performance, ensuring you can deliver compelling, camera-ready performances that captivate audiences. 

Work and train at the same time

We have designed our programme so you can train whilst also managing your work or other study commitments.

 

The course is structured to provide weekly intensive actor training sessions at weekends and evenings.

It's never too late to start your acting journey

We welcome aspiring actors of all ages; there's no upper age limit here. Our focus is on nurturing talent, irrespective of when you start.

Training that goes beyond acting

Our programme is designed to develop not just your acting skills, but also crucial industry knowledge.  

Who should apply?

Our programme is for those aged 18+ who are passionate about forging a career as an Actor. It's for the serious, the dedicated, the ones ready to dive into the world of acting for camera.

 

We're looking for students who bring self-motivation, discipline, and a readiness to engage creatively and collaboratively. If you're driven and ready to commit, you're the kind of student we want.

 

To apply you must:

• Be 18 years old or over (no upper limit)

• Be able to commit to the full programme of training

• Have some previous acting experience or training

 

Admission onto the programme is subject to successful application and audition. There is no fee to audition.

What's the time commitment?

We run two 6-month programmes a year - September to February and March to August.

 

Sessions run on Wednesday evenings 7.30pm-9.30pm and 10am-4pm the first Saturday of each month with 76 hours in classroom contact time.

£1,140 (including VAT) for full 6-month programme  
  
Interest free monthly payment plans available e.g. £250 deposit + 6 monthly payments of £148.33 

Applications are currently open for March 2025

To apply for our next round of auditions for March 2025, please complete and submit our application form and if you are sucessfull, we will then send you an email confirming the next steps.

Auditions take place at our studio, to audition you will be required to prepare a monologue of your choice.


The application deadline for our next round of auditions is Dec1st 2024 at 5pm.

 

Auditions will be held on Saturdays throughout Dec/Jan.

 
We are a 'zero audition fee school' so there are no fees to audition for this training programme.

Work towards Spotlight membership

This is your first step towards gaining a referral for Spotlight membership.  

 

Spotlight membership requires two years of continuous part-time training at The Actor Rebellion.  

 

Beyond your 6-month programme, Spotlight training credits can be obtained over a further 18 months with Green Room Membership (to include performance showcase and weekly scene study attendance) + Industry Masterclasses. Upon completion of the Actor Accelerator training, we will build a programme with you to ensure you meet our Spotlight criteria.

The Actor Rebellion is located at Wrong Shoes Studio in Old Town, Swindon.

With free car parking and great public transport links from the Swindon train and bus stations, access is a breeze wherever you’re coming from.

Swindon is conveniently located on the M4 making it an ideal lcoation, especially if you're travelling from London, which is just an hour by train. Major cities like Bristol, Oxford, Bath, and Cheltenham are also conveniently close, with just a 30-45 minute commute.

 

Being in Swindon means you're in a fast-growing town that combines the buzz of urban life with the tranquility of the surrounding countryside. It's a great place to study, work and explore.
